TrendForce says TSMC Arizona to make 100 million-plus Apple chips

A TrendForce report points to rising volume for TSMC's US plants from Apple, while the Taipei shares have slipped 2.83% since late September.

TSMC’s Arizona plants are lined up to make more than 100 million chips for Apple, research firm TrendForce reported on Oct 21. Apple is TSMC’s largest customer. If the figure holds, the US operation would be taking on real volume from it.

TrendForce did not put a value on the work or say when the chips would ship. TSMC has filed no material information on the report with the Taiwan Stock Exchange and has not commented on it.

Sales already near record pace

TSMC reported September revenue of NT$511.86 billion (about US$15.75 billion), 54.65% above a year earlier and 0.57% below August. The company said the gain came from higher demand for its advanced-process products. Revenue for January through September reached NT$3,898.73 billion, up 41.11% from the same months of 2025. TSMC posts these figures every month under Taiwan’s monthly revenue rules.

A three-week drift in Taipei

The stock last closed at NT$2,405 on Oct 20, or about US$73.99 at 32.504 NT dollars per US dollar. That close came before the report and was 0.62% below the Oct 19 close of NT$2,420. On Oct 19, TSMC halted work at a Kaohsiung site after four workers died, as Pacific Tape reported.

Since Sep 29 the shares have lost 2.83% in NT dollars. For dollar-based holders the loss was 4.95%. The gap reflects a weaker NT dollar, which slid 2.22% over that stretch, from 31.797 to 32.504 per US dollar.
