Privacy Policy
The short version
Pacific Tape has no accounts, no comments and no sign-up forms, so it does not ask you for personal information. Some limited technical data is processed by the services that host the site, by a small reading counter of our own (no cookies, no identifiers) and, where enabled, by analytics and advertising providers. This page explains what they are and how to opt out.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security purposes, for example to tell people apart from automated traffic. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own. Apart from the security cookies Cloudflare may set, described above, no third-party service sets cookies here. The reading counter described under Analytics sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Analytics
This site sets no analytics cookies. To see how much it is read, we use three things.
First, aggregate statistics that Cloudflare compiles on its own servers while delivering the site: the number of requests and page views, the pages requested and the countries the requests come from.
Second, Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script from Cloudflare (loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com) that reports each page load to Cloudflare: the page, the address of the page that linked to it, the country, the kind of browser and device, and how quickly the page loaded. It sets no cookies, and we see the results only as totals. The script is not loaded if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or if JavaScript is turned off.
Third, a small reading counter of our own on each article and information page and on the market map. If the page stays open and on screen for five seconds, your browser fetches one small file from this site whose name says which page was read. The request carries no cookie and no identifier, and it reveals nothing beyond what any page request already does (see Hosting and server logs above). We use these requests only to count how often each page is actually read rather than fetched by automated programs. Nothing is sent if JavaScript is turned off, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
On our own devices, a setting kept in the browser's local storage switches the reading counter and the Cloudflare Web Analytics script off, so that our own reading is left out of the figures. The site writes that setting only when a special address, not linked from any page, is opened.
The site also keeps a few display preferences in your browser's local storage, such as the market map's last period and index and a closed language hint. They never leave your device.
None of these figures identifies you personally. As described above, Cloudflare processes request information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. Mail to contact@pacifictape.com is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a private mailbox. It is used only to reply and is never sold or shared for marketing.

Articles link to outside sources such as exchanges, regulators and company filings. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
Children
This site is written for adult investors and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Because the site itself holds no personal data beyond email you send us, most requests concern the third parties named above, whose policies are linked. For anything else, write to contact@pacifictape.com.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
